BIke Hugger reviews the Electra Townie Sport 105. We're stocking the sibling of this bike, the Townie 2200—it features the same 700C wheels & sportier setup, but is equipped with a lower-spec Shimano drivetrain then the 105. As the review notes, the Sport series are sharp-looking bikes that get down the road a bit more efficiently than the conventional Townie family, owing to the larger wheels, narrower tires, and road-oriented gearing.
Riders who like the the foot-forward design, low center of gravity, and general body-friendliness of the Townie series but want something they could rock the road with would do well to check out the Townie Sport series. It's offered in three trim levels: 2200, Tiagra, and 105. The 2200 has an MSRP of $600 . . . not bad.
While on the subject, I should mention the RANS Zenetik series, which sets the standard for crank-forward bikes that offer comfort and performance.
