Friday morning Scott and I left the shop in capable, er, hands . . .

 . . . and headed down Washington Street to the press conference announcing the events that will mark the opening of the Greenville Hospital System Swamp Rabbit Tram Trail, aka the Swamp Rabbit, the SRT, or any number of other ways to which it will be referred that don't include either the name of its generous title sponsor or the word "tram." It was a nice public pat on the back for all of the stakeholders, decision-makers, and plain old volunteers whose vision, persistence, and toil has brought the project to its current state of . . . well, near-completion.

So now the ball is in our court—us, the public. It's up to us to make this project the foundation of a more connected and liveable future for Greenville. Use the greenway and encourage your friends and neighbors to do the same. Get involved. Thank your elected officials for their support of current projects and ask for their backing for future initiatives. Let's make our corner of the world greener, friendlier, fitter, and more connected!
