For the third consecutive year, a bike from Breezer's City series was named Bicycling Magazine's Editors' Choice for best commuter. Two years ago it was the Villager, this year, like last year, it's the Uptown 8.

These bikes are real sleepers. They don't use eycatching baubles and bling. They don't use aggressive-looking cross-sections or even contemporary graphics. They just ride great. They have a superlative road feel and stable yet maneuverable handling characteristics that get noticed in every review and can be confirmed in one test ride. Joe Breeze knows bikes, and in the Uptown 8 he delivered a great city bike that gives you all of what you need and nothing more, in an understated wrapper that would look at home in Copenhagen or Amsterdam. In two years of ownership by ASI/Fuji, the quality of this flagship bike has remained, but the price has gone south—MSRP is $879. Not bad at all.
All in-stock Breezers are currently on sale at TTR, as is some 2009 stock remaining with the manufacturer.
