These baskets from Peterboro Basket Company are one of my favorites from Interbike . . . I liked them so much I had to get them in the shop. They're hand-woven in New Hampshire, using Appalachian ash. They have a really satisfying crafty feel—the fasteners are copper and the whole line is available in a variety of finishes, some of which are seen here.
Many models are available with quick-release mounts, but take a moment to consider the virtue of the simple leather strap: a medium size QR basket has a capacity of 10-11 pounds. These are no different. If your Toto is a toy poodle, you're in luck. The leather strap version of the same basket holds 50 lbs. The large holds 70. 70 ell-bees. Toto could be a standard poodle, and you're probably good to go.
Peterboro Basket Company is located in Peterborough, New Hampshire. They've been around for 150 years, probably because nobody ever sees their name written down and wonders "Hey, I wonder what this company does?" You can't say the same thing for Enron or Altria, can you? Somewhere along the line, the Peterboro Basket Company also ditched the "ugh," which was probably a good business move, too. Nobody likes "ugh." If you'd like less "ugh" in your life, you might think about hooking up one of these beautiful baskets.
